A long swim for IB in the morning, out and back to the buoys marking the no motor boat swimming area. We reckoned this to be a total of 0.5 Km.
We had decided to go to Paralimni after lunch by bus. It is a short ride on a 20 minute frequency and a flat fare of E1.50 .
We wimped out and took the Golf!.
Paralimni is the biggest town for miles and has a Marks and Spencer!
It was however a disappointment as it is smaller than Ryde by some margin. It did however have two fine churches (and a smaller one) in the main square called Plateia. It is also known locally as Three Churches Square!
Fill the car up and
back for a swim in the sea and finally in the pool - IG came in as well before a nice dinner it another new restaurant. There are enough restaurants in what we call 'the strip' to have lunch and dinner in a new one every day on a two week holiday. They are very similar and we have a joke that there is only one central kitchen and underground tunnels for waiters to get the food!
Here are some food pics to make you hungry!

Getting Around Cyprus
There are many ways to get around Cyprus. For example this morning we walked the short distance to Fig Tree Bay.
Other forms of longer distance transport are buses ( we hope to try one tomorrow!
There is an open top tour but the rubbish brochure does not give the route, timetable or cost!
There are taxis, many are limo style Mercedes E class
If you are getting married there seem to be other options:
You could of course drive and use a ferry!
Or you could hire one of these buggies
Today we had an afternoon trip out in a hire car!
First we went south to Cape Greco
Had a look at the tourist resort of Ayia Napa and before returning visited the Pofitis Elias Church which is on a hill behind Protaras.
And from the top we got view over Protaras
and our hotel
Where the kids were able to catch a few tiddlers! |

Staying at the Sunrise Beach Hotel
It is right on the beach with only a board walk between us and the sea, which we measured at 26C this morning!
After a good breakfast
morning by the pool and on the beach and a walk along the board walk this afternoon. Here are some pictures of the local coastline and beaches:
