From Air Con to Heating!

Yesterday morning was very wet but the afternoon was sunny. It was still warm with a high of 75F. Today was dull, a little wet but much colder at 50F. Yesterday we went into buildings to get cool: today it is to warm up!

We headed of by Subway to 59th Street to do the Aerial Tramway to Roosevelt Island which is in the East River.

On the way from the Subway Station we passed Bloomingdales - New Yorks Harrods!

 United Nations

Road Bridge from Queens is a lifting bridge

Then off by Subway to the Bronx to have a look at the Yankees Stadium. Most of the Subway is cut and cover but outlying lines often run above the road, as here at 161 Street. The girders look like they need more than just a lick of paint!

We needed a loo ( sorry Restroom ) and a coffee and MacDonald's was the only choice!
 Above street station

Lunch time rolls from Blake and Todd - we now know we only need one between the two of us.
View of Chrysler Builkding and a bit of Grand Central Station from Madison Avenue on our walk back to the hotel to eat lunch and have a hot drink
We then headed off by Subway to Union Square, one of the four 'proper' squares in New York

Then on to Little Italy
 and then adjacent China Town

Before a walk back to the hotel down 5th Avenue
