One World Observatory

We had originally planned to do the World Trade Center view on Friday but it was too dull to be worthwhile. It was always forecast to be clear this morning and it was! We timed it to perfection. Booking office opened at 08 30 and the Observatory at 9am. We stepped into the lift to floor 102 just before 9am!The lift shows an LED display of the view if it were a glass lift - clever!

Here are some pictures of the views. All of them are taken through glass as there are no outside viewing areas - shame!

Empire State Building
Brooklyn Bridge

Then back down and a look at the Statue of Liberty
Then back to the Hotel to check out and store our cases before a last look around the Midtown area.
'Real' houses!

The Chrysler Building

Grand Central Station with slightly less traffic!

and a few random buildings and sights:

And finally the shared van to take us back to JFK Airport for the flight home!

A six hour flight that was so empty we were both able to sleep lying across three middle seats: who needs upgrades. Landed on time, 30 minutes later we were waiting for our train to Portsmouth Harbour. A great holiday but now to get over all that walking and the jet lag!
