It has turned out to be an excellent choice with many pluses and only a few negatives.
Our room is large with two standard double beds: we would prefer a single king sized bed.
It is very well air conditioned with a remote control offering temperature, direction and fan speed choices.
We do not have the noise of the outside unit but we do have a kitchen near us and the fan for that is noisy and runs all night!
At least we are 2 floors up rather than being outside our balcony! Our room faces the other way and the fans are heard through our bedroom door. Like a lot of Caribbean hotels the corridors are open.
We have a nice balcony overlooking the pool and a view of the sea as well.
We also like a dark room and rather than have curtains the room has louvre doors inside the patio windows. Using all his engineering skills IB has devised a blackout using beach towels!
The hotel is right on the beach with no road to cross: here are some beach views:
The beach is provided with a life guard
Opposite the hotel is a small shopping complex with restaurants and shops including a supermarket.
There are many restaurants and fast food outlets very close to the hotel.
There are two pools and the main one is divided into a shallow area for kids and a much larger part for serious swimmers. the two parts are divided by a bridge that you can swim under.
Adult only pool: not at all popular!
Kids love swimming into the cave behind the waterfall
Although on the third floor there is a lift close to our room which takes us to the pool: very easy for pool side snacks:
North from the hotel is a mile long board walk that leads to a sheltered beach ideal for kids
There are many little beaches on the way up to this beach
There is a games room, exercise room Spa and open lobby as well
Tea and coffee in the lobby: but only until 7am!
So all in all an excellent hotel which we are really enjoying.
