Bajan life

We thought we would give an insight into life in Barbados. For example we have speed humps: Barbados has speed dips!

We know which is salt by the single hole for salt and the multi holes for pepper: not in barbados it's the other way around!

Barbados is a beautiful country so it is a shame that the streets carry telephone and power cables in an unsightly mess

Island Boy had a bit of a moment. Going back to the room he jumped into the lift, the doors shut and he found himself in complete darkness. Eventually he managed to press a floor button by feel and the lift doors opened. The lift is now out of action!
Standards of building repair and details is far below our expectations as shown by the mains wiring attached under the swimming pool bridge.

Bajans are very resourceful and here is an example:taxi telephones attached to a  tree!

Road transport is very varied, most cars are Japanese or Korean, and there are many Moke conversions of small Japanese or Korean micro cars like this Kia Piccanto.

Trucks are more often American:
And buses are Japanese and this is the largest size of coach on the island:

Food is often spicy and very tasty. These fish cakes were enjoyed by IB at the |Tiki bar on the beach.
